When you are approaching the end of your current Xbox LIVE Gold subscription, you will see the following notification when you sign in to Xbox LIVE:

Renew with a prepaid code
If you created your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership using a prepaid card, it will be downgraded to an Xbox LIVE Silver Membership at the end of your membership period. You can use another prepaid card to restore your membership to a Gold membership.
TIP Activate your prepaid card before your membership expires so that you don’t miss out on all the benefits of your Gold membership!
To redeem a prepaid code
- Go to My Xbox, and open your Xbox LIVE profile.
- From your profile screen, select Manage Account.

- Select Memberships.

- Select the type of membership you currently have.
- Your membership screen will show your membership start date, the next billing date, your renewal type and cost, and, if applicable, both the card type and the last four digits of the credit card you used to pay for the membership.
- Select Redeem Code to enter the 25-digit code from your prepaid card.

Renew with a credit card
Note You cannot remove the credit card on file until the current subscription expires.
To renew with a credit card
- Go to My Xbox, and open your Xbox LIVE profile.
- From your profile screen, select Manage Account.

- Select Memberships.

- Select the type of membership you currently have.
Your membership screen will show your membership start date, the next billing date, your renewal type and cost, and, if applicable, both the card type and the last four digits of the credit card you used to pay for the membership.

- Select Modify Membership to view a list of alternate membership types and renewal options. If you have an Xbox LIVE Silver membership, you have the option to upgrade to a full Xbox LIVE Gold membership.

Error messages
Error: Your credit card has been declined several times by our billing service.

You might receive this error if your credit card has expired or other information on your credit card has changed. You can update your credit card information on the Billing page.
